The incident happened on November 28 at around 11:30 AM, when the police received a report of a pedestrian being hit at the intersection of Frunze and Krasnodarskaya streets in the village of Sokuluk.
A investigative-operational group from the Sokuluk District Internal Affairs Department arrived at the scene. Preliminary data indicates that the driver of a FAW-CAZ250P62K2T1E dump truck, born in 1987, K.A., was making a turn from Frunze Street onto Krasnodarskaya when he struck 16-year-old Sokuluk resident K.A., who was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing.
Unfortunately, the schoolgirl succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 312 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning violations of traffic safety rules. The driver has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. An investigation is currently underway.
