In Chuy Region, a dropper suspected of fraud involving money theft has been detained

According to information from the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Department of the Chui region, the incident occurred on September 9, when a 55-year-old woman from the village of Novonikolaevka reported to the Internal Affairs Department of the Jayil district. She stated that she received a call from unknown individuals who introduced themselves as officials from government agencies and banks, convincing her to take out a loan for the amount of 400,000 soms at one of the banks in Kara-Balta. As a result, the victim transferred 393,000 soms to the account specified by the fraudsters.

In connection with this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Article 209-1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning the intentional transfer or sale of electronic payment means, virtual assets, and SIM cards to third parties.

During operational activities, the police identified the suspect — a 17-year-old A. A. from Bishkek, who voluntarily handed over his bank card to the investigation. Analysis showed that the teenager had previously opened a Visa plastic card and a SIM card, which he sold to unknown individuals via Telegram for 4,500 soms. These details were subsequently used to commit fraudulent actions, resulting in the victim losing her funds.

Thus, A. A. provided the criminals with full access to his internet banking and mobile applications, which is also classified as a crime.

The suspect was detained in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic and placed in a temporary detention facility. The court decided to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
