Two incidents involving railway transport occurred in Europe, according to media reports.

In Spain, in the area of Gelida, located in the province of Barcelona, a suburban train derailed after colliding with a retaining wall that collapsed onto the tracks due to heavy rains. According to the publication El Mundo, as a result of this incident, the train driver was killed, and at least 15 people were injured, some of whom are in serious condition.

Firefighters, emergency services, and police arrived at the scene, and traffic on the damaged section has been completely halted.

This is not the first case of a train derailing in Spain in a short period: on January 18, a collision between two high-speed trains in the province of Córdoba resulted in the deaths of at least 42 people and injured hundreds of passengers.

A train also derailed in Poland; however, as reported by Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak, no one among the approximately 20 passengers was injured in this case. The causes of the incident are under investigation, with relevant services involved. Due to the incident, routes have been altered, and some trains have been replaced by buses.
