The number of fatalities in the train collision in Spain has risen

As a result of the collision of two high-speed trains in Spain, 39 people have died, including the driver of one of the trains, local radio station COPE reports. More than 70 people sustained injuries of varying severity. Following the incident, all high-speed train services between Madrid and Andalusia have been suspended until the investigation is completed.

The accident occurred on the evening of January 18 near the settlement of Adamus, located in the province of Córdoba. A train traveling from Malaga to Madrid with 317 passengers on board derailed and veered onto an adjacent track, where it collided with another train heading from Madrid to Huelva, which also derailed after the impact.
