The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is checking if there are Kyrgyz citizens among the victims of the explosion at the resort in Switzerland.

The situation following the explosion at the resort of Crans-Montana, which occurred on New Year's Eve, is under the control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. As a result of the incident at the Le Constellation bar, about 40 people were killed, and around 100 were injured, some of whom suffered severe burns. Preliminary data suggests that the cause of the fire may have been pyrotechnics, and the Swiss police do not consider this an act of terrorism.

According to information provided by the MFA of the KR, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Switzerland is actively interacting with local authorities to determine whether there are any citizens of Kyrgyzstan among the deceased or injured. Currently, preliminary information indicates that there are no Kyrgyz nationals among the victims, but the verification process is ongoing.

In connection with this tragic event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, expressed condolences to his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis. In his letter, he expressed his deepest sorrow over the losses and extended his sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, as well as wishing a speedy recovery to all the injured.
