According to police reports, one of the shooters was disarmed by a passerby, which was captured on video. As a result of the incident, one of the attackers was killed, while another was injured and apprehended. Initially, there were reports of a possible third participant; however, the New South Wales police confirmed the arrest of only two suspects.
Australian authorities expressed their concern regarding the incident. A representative of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that the authorities are aware of the situation and urged everyone in the beach area to follow the instructions of law enforcement. Police also recommended that people seek shelter and avoid visiting the Bondi area.
