The shooting occurred around 6:00 PM local time (8:00 AM in Bishkek) in a banquet hall located on Lucille Avenue, near Thornton Road.
According to Sheriff’s spokesperson Heather Brent, there are both adults and children among the victims. Initial data suggests that this incident may have been premeditated.
Stockton authorities reported that the suspected shooter has not yet been apprehended and urged citizens to assist in the investigation. Detectives are working to establish his motives.
“I am in contact with public safety officials to find out all the details of what happened and to get answers,” noted Vice Mayor Jason Lee on his Facebook page.
Units from the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office in Washington are working at the scene.
Stockton is a city with a population of about 320,000, located approximately 64 kilometers south of Sacramento.
