After food poisoning from shawarma, 75 people sought medical help at a private school

As a result of food poisoning from shawarma that occurred in a private school, 75 people sought medical assistance, as reported by 24.kg citing information from the Republican Clinical Infectious Disease Hospital.

Gulzhigit Aaliev, the chief physician of the institution, noted that among the victims were 68 children and 7 adults.

Out of the total number of those who sought help, 13 people were hospitalized, including 11 children and 2 adults.

According to Aaliev, at the moment five patients have already been discharged, while eight (six of whom are children and two adults) remain under observation. Their condition is assessed as satisfactory, and they are likely to be discharged today as well.

It was previously reported that the mass poisoning occurred in one of the private schools in Bishkek, and all the victims had consumed shawarma in the school cafeteria.

In connection with this incident, a sanitary-epidemiological investigation is being conducted. Following the inspection, protocols were drawn up against the school management, and fines totaling 36,000 soms were imposed.

Parents of the students have put forward a number of demands to improve the situation.
