In Bishkek, 63 students were poisoned by shawarma in the school cafeteria

In Bishkek, an incident of mass poisoning occurred in the cafeteria of the private school "Seitek Stem," caused by shawarma.

According to information provided by the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, the number of affected students reached 63.

Of these, 61 students were hospitalized in the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, with 10 of them requiring hospitalization. The other two sought help at a private medical clinic.

The Bishkek Center for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance is currently conducting a sanitary investigation into this poisoning case. Laboratory samples were taken from equipment, inventory, dishes, and food served for breakfast and lunch.

As a result of the inspection, protocols for violations were drawn up against the school administration. Fines were imposed: 23,000 soms under Article 214, Part 5, and 13,000 soms under Article 214, Part 1.

According to sanitary and hygiene standards, the use of fast food in school meals is strictly prohibited.

At the moment, the situation is under the control of the relevant authorities.
