According to Ulysmedia.kz, Kazakh authorities point to the actions of Uzbekistan as the main reason for the traffic jams.
During a trip by journalists to the stations of Shengel'dy, Zhilga, Darbaza, and Saryagash, a significant number of wagons were recorded. At Shengel'dy, for example, there are 300 trains concentrated, at Zhilga — 250, and at Darbaza — 200. In total, more than 11,000 wagons are waiting, some of which have been standing for five to six days. KTZ claims that the traffic jams arise due to the untimely acceptance of trains arriving from the Uzbek railway.
In mid-November, representatives of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan discussed the existing problem, and it was reported that both sides intended to find ways to resolve it.
