The largest airlines in these republics have confirmed their intentions to purchase a significant number of aircraft, which is an important event for the region.
Air Astana from Kazakhstan has additionally ordered 15 long-haul Boeing 787 models, marking the largest contract in the company's history. This order includes five confirmed units, five options, and five purchase rights. Currently, the Board of Directors of Air Astana has approved this deal, and the company is completing the necessary corporate procedures.
This new order complements a previously signed agreement for the delivery of three Boeing 787-9s.
The Tajik airline Somon Air has decided to acquire 10 narrow-body Boeing 737 MAX-8s and four wide-body Boeing 787-9s, marking the company's first experience in ordering wide-body aircraft.
As for Uzbekistan Airways, they have signed an agreement to convert options into a firm order for eight Boeing 787-9s. Thus, the total number of firm orders for wide-body Dreamliners from the Uzbek national carrier has reached 22 aircraft.
