An emergency landing of Air India flight from San Francisco to Delhi occurred in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) after the crew suspected a technical malfunction, as reported in the airline's press release.
“The aircraft successfully landed in Ulaanbaatar and is currently undergoing all necessary checks. We are actively working with our partners to support the passengers and make every effort to ensure their prompt departure to their final destination,” the company noted.
“We apologize for the inconvenience caused to passengers due to this unforeseen situation. The safety of passengers and crew is Air India's highest priority,” the airline added.
According to information from Flightradar24.com, this flight was operated by a Boeing 777 aircraft.
The Air India flight, heading from San Francisco to Delhi, was forced to make an emergency landing in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) due to technical issues during the flight. There were 245 passengers on board, who remained in the city until an alternative route was found.
“Flight AI174, which departed on November 2 from San Francisco to Delhi with a stopover in Kolkata, made an emergency landing in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) after a technical issue was detected. After passing through immigration control, passengers were accommodated in hotels while Air India seeks alternative ways to transport them to Delhi as quickly as possible,” the airline's press release stated.
The Ministry of External Affairs of India is providing assistance to Air India passengers who are in a difficult situation in Mongolia.
