On October 30, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs initiated an event aimed at developing a National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 concerning women, peace, and security. This was reported on the ministry's Facebook page.

This event was timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and the 25th anniversary of the Resolution on women, peace, and security. It was aimed at demonstrating Mongolia's commitment to implementing this Resolution, identifying priorities for the national plan, establishing cooperation with local and international partners, and informing the public.

In his opening speech at the event, Secretary of State Mönkhtushig Lkhanaajav emphasized that the Resolution "Women, Peace, and Security," adopted in 2000, became the first historical resolution confirming the important role of women in conflict resolution and peacebuilding. He called on the international community to take active actions in this area. Lkhanaajav added that the development of a national plan for the implementation of the Resolution would allow for the adaptation of its goals to national realities, allocation of necessary resources, and assessment of progress.

During the event, participants were introduced to reports on topics related to women's participation in Mongolia's defense and security, conflict resolution through joint efforts, as well as equal participation in education and addressing issues of violence.

A project titled "Men for Change. A Father's Story," initiated by the organization "Women for Change," and a program "Empowering Civil Society on Women, Peace, and Security," implemented by the United Nations Community, were also presented.

In the discussion, which became the first step towards creating a National Action Plan for Resolution 1325, representatives from government ministries, military structures, law enforcement agencies, scientific and educational institutions, as well as civil society and the diplomatic corps in Ulaanbaatar participated.

As a result of the meeting, a working group will be formed, which will include stakeholders working on issues of security, gender equality, and women's participation in the security and defense sectors, with an emphasis on creating a safe and harmonious social environment.
