The current air quality index in Almaty is 160. In this list, it is surpassed by Lahore (Pakistan) with 193, Karachi (Pakistan) with 184, and Delhi (India) with 179. According to forecasts from "Kazhydromet," the concentration of suspended PM-2.5 particles in the air on October 31 will be 137 µg/m3, while the level of PM-10 will be 143 µg/m3. The main source of pollution, according to IQAir, is PM2.5, the level of which exceeds the permissible norms set by the World Health Organization (WHO) by 14 times.

According to meteorologists' expectations, from November 1 to 2, atmospheric conditions will favor the dispersion of pollutants; however, the overall pollution level in Almaty will remain high.

It is worth noting that on October 28, Almaty was also in fourth place in the ranking of the most polluted cities in the world, although on that day "Kazhydromet" predicted a decrease in pollution levels.
