PM2.5 consists of solid particles smaller than 2.5 microns, which is 30 times smaller than a human hair. These particles are made up of a mixture of dust, ash, soot, sulfates, and nitrates present in the air. They are the cause of the characteristic pollution observed in large cities.
As of October 28, Bishkek ranks 52nd in the world air quality and atmospheric pollution ranking (5:00 PM).
