Germany allocates €43.1 million to support Mongolia's strategic reform program. Video

At a meeting held on October 30, 2025, in Ulaanbaatar, the government of the Federal Republic of Germany announced the allocation of €43.1 million to support the action program developed by the authorities of Mongolia.

Negotiations aimed at developing cooperation took place between the governments of Mongolia and Germany.

Germany has committed €43.1 million for the implementation of projects in areas such as vocational education, sustainable forestry, agriculture, climate policy, and energy. The main goal of this cooperation is to support economic diversification and prepare qualified personnel for developing sectors.

The parties confirmed their commitments to sustainable development, environmental protection, and the expansion of renewable energy sources.

The Ministry of Economy and Development of Mongolia reported that the main areas of cooperation with Germany include biodiversity, nature conservation, education, employment, climate, and energy.

The negotiations were led by Mongolia's Secretary of State Batkhuu Idish, while the German side was represented by Helmut Rudolf Kulitz, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Germany to Mongolia, and Yiannis Neofitou, head of the Eastern and Central Asia Department of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

A key outcome of the negotiations was the confirmation of the intention to develop cooperation in light of the recent elevation of relations between Mongolia and Germany to strategic partnership.



The German delegation included 14 representatives from various organizations, including the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the KfW Development Bank, and the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR).

Germany confirmed its support for Mongolia's economic diversification policy and expressed its intention to continue implementing long-term and medium-term development strategies. The parties agreed on plans to expand the use of new financial instruments and investment mechanisms in Mongolia, as well as to enhance cooperation in business and the private sector.
