The countries of Mongolia and Turkey have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of defense technologies, personnel training, and drone production.
On October 29, a meeting took place at the State Palace, where the Mongolian delegation, led by Defense Minister Batlut Damba, met with Ibrahim Ufuk Kayanak, the chairman of the parliamentary group representing Turkey.
At the beginning of the meeting, Defense Minister Batlut Damba congratulated Turkey on the 102nd anniversary of its independence, celebrated on October 29. Discussing historical and cultural ties, the parties also considered possible directions for further interaction.
Batlut Damba noted that relations between Mongolia and Turkey are dynamically developing in the fields of politics, economy, education, culture, and defense, emphasizing that cooperation has reached the level of strategic partnership.
Among the examples of successful defense cooperation is the recent opening of a small-scale ammunition production plant in Mongolia, which was attended by Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler.
The minister emphasized the importance of the agreement to continue the "Financial Assistance and Support Program" in the field of defense, which will come into effect in 2026, opening new horizons for joint work.
Ibrahim Ufuk Kayanak, the chairman of the parliamentary group, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development of bilateral relations, noting the extensive opportunities for cooperation in areas such as technical and technological exchange, as well as personnel training and drone production.
In conclusion of his speech, Minister Batlut Damba expressed confidence that the friendly ties between Mongolia and Turkey will reach a new level next year, and that work in the field of defense will continue to develop, conveying his congratulations to the people of Turkey on Independence Day.
