According to the latest World Happiness Report 2025, Kazakhstan ranked first as the happiest country in Central Asia.

The document notes that countries in the region exhibit high levels of mutual assistance and kindness, placing them among the leaders in the world.

Despite economic differences, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan demonstrate a high level of social cohesion and trust, as stated in the report.
The Republic of Kazakhstan is positioned 43rd in the overall happiness ranking, making it a leader among Central Asian states.

Uzbekistan occupies the 53rd place, Kyrgyzstan – the 75th, with the latter being the regional leader in helping strangers (55th place).

Tajikistan found itself in the 90th position.

Turkmenistan was not included in the ranking due to a lack of data.
The study showed that the kindness index in Central Asia varies from 0.30 to 0.36, which is close to the global average of 0.33. This indicates strong social ties and collectivist traditions in the region, where mutual assistance and participation in community life are paramount values, the authors of the study note.

Experts also emphasize that happiness is not determined solely by income but also depends on the level of trust in society, stability, and a sense of freedom. In their opinion, Central Asia represents a region with a "warm social climate," where kindness and mutual assistance help overcome economic difficulties and shortcomings of government institutions.
