Igor Golubev, Deputy Head of the Association of International Freight Transport, proposed a new route for cargo transportation from Central Asia to Russia, which will pass through the Caspian Sea. This statement was made at a panel session of the international exhibition KyrgyzTransLogistic 2025.

According to him, the route includes the transportation of goods from the port of Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan) to the port of Astrakhan (Russia), which should significantly improve logistics in the region.

Golubev also noted that the possibility of acquiring Ro-Ro type ferries is being considered, which will allow for the optimization of the transportation process and reduce dependence on transit through neighboring countries. This will create new opportunities for the development of logistics infrastructure.

The First Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Choro Seitiov also expressed the opinion that Kyrgyzstan can change its status from a "landlocked country" to a transit country capable of connecting various regions. "We aim to transition from the category of landlocked countries to land-linked countries. Our goal is to become a link between Europe and Asia, as well as between the global north and south," he explained.

In the future, important transport and trade routes may pass through the territory of Kyrgyzstan, strengthening its position in the field of regional logistics.
