
According to the agency, Governor Andy Beshear noted that the likelihood of finding survivors in the burned area of the crash is extremely low. It is known that two of the injured are in critical condition, while another 18 people received medical assistance and have already been discharged from the hospital.
The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 crashed near Muhammad Ali International Airport shortly after takeoff of flight 2976, which was headed to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu. There were three crew members on board, and a fire broke out after the crash.
The MD-11 cargo plane was developed by McDonnell Douglas and later transferred to Boeing. It is currently actively used for cargo transport by FedEx Express, Lufthansa Cargo, and UPS Airlines.
