
According to information provided by the spokesperson of the Afghan Ministry of Public Health, Sharafat Zaman Amarkhail, via the social network X, the number of injured as a result of the recent earthquake in the north of the country amounted to 534, while the death toll exceeded 20.
“In the earthquake that occurred in the provinces of Samangan and Balkh, more than 20 citizens died, and 534 were injured,” he reported.
Amarkhail also noted that medical teams are already working at the scene, and there is a possibility of an increase in the number of casualties. All hospitals in the nearby areas have been instructed to be ready to receive the injured.
According to data from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was located 35 kilometers from the district of Khulm in northern Afghanistan at a depth of 10 kilometers.
