On November 10, 15 solar flares were recorded on the Sun, including one of class X1.2, as reported by the press service of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAN).

According to scientists, "the flare activity on the stellar body remains at a high level, posing significant risks to Earth." One of the recorded flares reached class M.

The Russian Academy of Sciences also provided a forecast for November 11: by the evening, a deterioration in the geomagnetic situation is expected, with the possibility of reaching storm levels G1-G2. The peak of flare activity is predicted to occur on November 12, when the level may reach G3-G4. The likelihood of repeated powerful solar flares, including higher-class events, remains.

Solar flares are classified into five categories based on the intensity of X-ray radiation: A, B, C, M, and X. Class X includes the most powerful flares capable of causing severe geomagnetic storms.

The index following the letter indicates the level of intensity of the flare. For classes A, B, C, and M, it ranges from 1.0 to 9.9, while for class X, this index is higher.

The highest flare of class X was recorded on November 10 at 12:19 MSK. The day before, on November 9, the Russian Academy of Sciences reported a flare with a power of X1.79, after which the Sun ejected a significant amount of plasma towards Earth.

This is not the first class X flare this month: on November 4, scientists registered a flare with a power of X1.8. This event occurred at a "relatively safe" distance from Earth.
