According to scientists, a significant coronal mass ejection is currently forming, and although its center of activity is still far from Earth, it is gradually moving towards the planet.
Active region No. 4246, which has been demonstrating a series of flares since the beginning of October, is once again facing Earth. Since October 10, more than 100 flares have occurred in this area, including 25 M-class events.
We remind you that on October 30, the solar activity index dropped to zero for the first time this year; however, astronomers emphasize that the current increase in activity may signal a new wave of flares and a possible increase in magnetic storms on our planet.
