In Thailand, a boat sank with citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic on board. Comment from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the morning hours of January 11, a boat named Korawich Marine 888, which had citizens of Kyrgyzstan on board, collided with a fishing vessel in Phuket.

According to TASS, there were 55 people on board the vessel, of which 52 were tourists and three were crew members. After the collision, the boat sustained serious damage and sank.

The Consul General in the Thai province, Yegor Ivanov, confirmed that among the passengers were 33 Russians, as well as citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries. As a result of the incident, a Russian woman born in 2008 died.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that there were two citizens of Kyrgyzstan on board the boat, with whom the embassy in Malaysia was able to establish contact.

According to available information, the Kyrgyz citizens were not injured, and their condition is assessed as stable. They refused medical assistance and hospitalization.

The embassy continues to maintain contact with these citizens and is monitoring the situation. According to available data, their return to their homeland is scheduled for January 15.
