On Sunday, an incident occurred in the Andaman Sea, near Phuket, involving a sightseeing boat that collided with a fishing vessel. As a result of the accident, 23 tourists were injured, according to the Kazinform agency, citing information from TASS.
According to data published by the Thairath newspaper, among the injured is an 18-year-old Russian tourist who has been confirmed as a victim of the crash.
Sources from TASS in the local tourism industry reported that the operator providing the excursions primarily targets Russian-speaking tourists and operates in the low-budget segment, which affects the level of service.
The interlocutor also noted that boats from this company have been involved in emergency situations in the past.
