The incident occurred on Sunday around 12:40 PM when the woman was swimming in the sea with her 23-year-old friend. Both participants found themselves in a difficult situation while swimming.
Several passersby witnessed the incident and rushed to help, pulling the women from the water and providing support until emergency services arrived. Later, medics and civil protection officers arrived at the scene and transported both victims to the hospital.
Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the medical staff, the 48-year-old woman could not survive. Meanwhile, the condition of the 23-year-old girl is assessed as stable.
In connection with the incident, law enforcement agencies have initiated an investigation.
