Air Crash in Aktau. Kazakhstan Will Soon Publish Information on the Investigation

The Vice Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, Maksat Kaliakparov, announced that the final report on the investigation into the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane, which occurred on December 25 near Aktau, will be published by the end of this year. He stated this at a press briefing in the government, as reported by Tengrinews.kz.

Kaliakparov noted that preliminary results were presented within three months after the incident, and a more detailed investigation is currently underway involving several expert assessments. He emphasized that this work requires significant effort, and upon its completion, a final report will be presented to the public.

“We cannot specify exact timelines at this moment. This is a serious matter, and I cannot guarantee a specific date. However, we will prepare a press release at the end of the year,” the vice minister added.

For reference, on December 25, 2024, an aviation accident occurred involving an Embraer aircraft operating a flight from Baku to Grozny, which crashed during an emergency landing three kilometers from Aktau Airport.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, there were 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board, including 42 citizens of Azerbaijan, 16 Russians, 6 Kazakhs, and 3 citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
