In Shymkent, the police are conducting an investigation into the case of two sisters from Kyrgyzstan who were reportedly held against their will in Kazakhstan. This was reported by the publication Tengrinews.kz.

In the press service of the city police department, it was noted that no official statements regarding this incident have been received so far.

“An investigation is currently underway. Details will be known upon its completion,” police representatives added.

Additionally, they reported on cooperation with the relevant authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Earlier, the mother of the girls from the Osh region appealed to the ombudsman’s office, expressing concern for her daughters' fate. According to her, in March 2024, a citizen named K.K. took her children (aged 16 and 18) to Shymkent, promising to provide them with work and care. Later, the girls informed their mother that they were being subjected to violence and forced into hard physical labor.

The ombudsman’s office emphasized that the actions of the employers violated the rights of the children. Thanks to the consulate and the Kyrgyz diaspora, the girls were located in Shymkent. As a result of the court proceedings related to violations of migration legislation, they were able to return home.
