The waste processing plant in Bishkek will start operations on December 26. This was reported by the press service of the city mayor's office on November 14.

The testing process for the plant began on November 14, when the first solid household waste was delivered to the site. This event was attended by figures such as the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, Meder Mashiev, and the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev.

As part of the pilot program, 17 units of specialized equipment made trips and brought in 126 tons of waste. Once a volume of 1,000 tons is reached, waste processing will begin, which will allow for the production of electricity.

The construction of the plant is nearing completion, and the opening is scheduled for December 26, 2025.

The project is being implemented in accordance with a framework agreement signed by the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, and the General Director of the company "Junxin," Dai Daoguo, in November 2023. On March 29, 2024, a "time capsule" was laid at the construction site with the participation of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The investment project received approval from the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 113 dated March 28, 2024. The total investment amount will be 95 million US dollars.
