Today, November 14, the first trial delivery of solid municipal waste (SMW) was made at the site of the new waste processing plant. The press service of the capital's mayor's office reported this event.

Present at the plant's launch were the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, Meder Mashiev, the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, and other officials.

As part of the pilot launch, 17 units of specialized equipment were involved, each making one trip, bringing a total of 126 tons of SMW. Once the volume of waste reaches 1,000 tons, the process of disposal will begin, followed by the production of electricity.

The mayor, Aibek Junushaliev, also visited the site to check on the progress of construction and commissioning works.

The construction of the plant is nearing completion. The opening is expected to take place on December 26, 2025. This project is being implemented based on a framework agreement signed in November 2023 between the Mayor of Bishkek and the General Director of Junxin Dai Daoguo Company. A time capsule was laid at the construction site on March 29, 2024, with the participation of the Chairman of the Cabinet.

The project, requiring an investment of $95 million, was approved by the Kyrgyz Republic Government Resolution No. 113 dated March 28, 2024.
