Tuition Prices
There are over 300 driving schools operating in Kyrgyzstan, offering courses for obtaining driver's licenses. The cost of training ranges from 16,000 to 20,000 soms, while practical driving lessons cost between 600 and 900 soms per session. Depending on the driving school, the program includes 15-25 practical lessons, and training lasts about 2.5 months on average.
Many educational institutions offer the option of installment payments, allowing the cost to be divided into three parts. This practice existed before, but recently, according to representatives of one driving school, interest in it has significantly increased.
Thus, the total cost of the course, including practical lessons, can range from 25,000 to 43,000 soms. If trainees wish to practice on simulators, the price may be even higher.
Quick Enrollment
Driving school staff note that enrollments are closing much faster than usual, and some institutions have completely suspended registration until January. Those who do not manage to enroll by the end of December are curious about how the training system will be organized, which now lasts more than a year. The Presidential Administration promises to present a new course program by November 20 to clarify the details of the training.
Among the key changes is the increase of the theoretical course to 384 hours and practice in various weather conditions, which will allow future drivers to prepare for driving in rain, snow, and hot weather. Additionally, the number of questions on exams will increase from 700 to 2,000-3,000, raising the level of preparation. The evaluation of exams will be conducted by artificial intelligence, ensuring complete digitalization of the system.
According to the State Agency for Registration of Vehicles and Driver's Licenses, 60,076 driver's licenses were issued in Kyrgyzstan in 2024. The theoretical exam was passed on the first attempt by 16,932 people, and on the second attempt by 7,660. The rest either retook the exam several times or were unable to pass it.
