Current Situation with Drivers in Kyrgyzstan
As of September 30, there are 3,039,947 valid driver's licenses registered in the country:- 2,538,532 (83.5%) of them belong to men;
- 501,415 (16.5%) - to women.
Statistics on License Issuance Since the Beginning of the Year
During the first nine months of the current year, 135,196 driver's licenses were issued in Kyrgyzstan, of which:- 132,091 - national standard licenses;
- 2,541 - international standard licenses;
- 564 - tractor driver licenses.
- 74,646 of them passed the exam successfully;
- 281,661 - did not pass;
- 144,371 - did not appear for the exam.
- 87,590 - passed successfully;
- 99,296 - did not pass.
Documents Required to Replace Indefinite Licenses with Fixed Ones
To exchange an indefinite driver's license, the following documents will be required:- medical certificate in form No. 83;
- certificate of completion from a driving school (driver's card). If it is not available, a corresponding certificate can be obtained from the State Center for Vehicle Registration and Driver Licensing;
- valid driver's license.

Private driving schools continue their activities in accordance with the law. Currently, their operations are not restricted.There are 261 private driving schools and 79 state schools operating in Kyrgyzstan.
Duration of Training in Driving Schools
An interdepartmental commission has been created to develop mechanisms for obtaining driver's licenses, which includes independent experts, driving school directors, and representatives of government bodies.New approaches and methods for training future drivers are currently being developed, and training under the new concept is still in the creation stage.
