Starting from January 2026, the process of replacing indefinite driver's licenses of the old model with new ones, valid for 10 years, will begin in Kyrgyzstan. This was announced by Kanbek Tumanbaev, the head of the President's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Tumanbaev specified that holders of existing 10-year licenses will be able to use them until the end of their established validity period.
In addition, plans include the modernization of vehicle technical passports — instead of traditional paper documents, new format plastic cards will be introduced.
