According to Tumanbaev, the training period in driving schools will be 14 months.
Citizens will be able to exchange their indefinite licenses for new ones at the State Agency for Registration of Vehicles and Driver's Licenses. He also noted that the new IDs comply with international ICAO standards.
"Previously, holders of old licenses faced difficulties when traveling abroad, but now with the new documents, it will be possible to enter any country. Furthermore, starting in 2026, private driving schools will be closed, leaving only state ones, or an additional lesson will be introduced into the school curriculum. Training in state driving schools will last for 14 months, with practical classes every three months," added Kanaybek Tumanbaev.
The event also showcased the equipment for laser engraving used for the new driver's licenses.
