Status: VII category, Lower Risk/least concerned, C^//rare, poorly studied species.
General distribution and in the country. Widespread. The species' range includes the deserts of Central Asia and Kazakhstan. Ustyurt, Prearalye, Bet-Pakdala, Pribalhashye, Turkmenistan, Caspian region, Western and Northern Tien Shan, as well as the western part of the Fergana Valley.
Habitat. Prefers to settle in relatively flat semi-desert areas covered with herbaceous vegetation, mainly consisting of ephemerals and ephemeroids. In our conditions, this includes clayey areas.
Population. No data available. In Kazakhstan, although widely distributed, its population is quite low. For example, along a 10 km route, 1.9-2.1 individuals were encountered, and in summer, 3.7.
Life style (life cycles). Unknown. The active seasonal period lasts about 7-8 months. It leads a crepuscular-nocturnal lifestyle. Digs shallow burrows. Breeding begins in spring after emerging from burrows. Female pregnancy in the Kyzylkum region has been noted in April. The duration of pregnancy is about 26 days. The breeding period is extended. The number of embryos ranges from 2 to 7. Females give birth to young in early May [29, 30, 34].

Status: VII category, Lower Risk/least concerned, LR/lc. Inhabits in Western and Northern Tien Shan, as well as in western part of Fergana Valley. Prefers plain semi-desert habitats with grass consisting of ephemers and ephemeroids. No data on numbers as well as on species biology for Kyrgyzstan are available. Wake period lasts for 7-8 months, nocturnal animals. Digs shallow burrows. Number of embryos is 2-7, mating season is outstretched. Females give birth to young animals at the beginning of May. No evidence on holding them in captivity. Protection measures are unknown. It is recommended to conserve Jerboa’s habitats.
