At a meeting with residents of the Pervomaisky district, President Sadyr Japarov announced that a waste processing plant is scheduled to be launched in Bishkek within 10–15 days in December. He reminded that a new plant has been built near the capital's landfill, which will generate electricity for the local grid.

However, the current volume of collected waste in Bishkek is only 800 tons, which is significantly lower than the processing capacity of the plant—up to 1,200 tons. "For 30 years, waste was simply burned here, creating smog, and now we will recycle it. However, we currently do not have enough," the president noted.

He confirmed that the first supply of electricity generated during the recycling process will begin on December 1. It is worth noting that the plant is located on a 14-hectare area of the landfill, and in the future, it is also planned to incinerate waste from the settlements of the Chui region, including Kara-Balta and Shopokov.
