Citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan have been freed from slavery in Myanmar, as reported by the publication Kun.uz.
It is known that these individuals initially traveled to Thailand in search of work. Upon arrival, they were deceitfully transported to Myanmar on free buses, where they became victims of human traffickers.

“According to the victims, they were forced to work in fraudulent call centers. Those who refused to cooperate were subjected to threats and physical violence,” the publication states.

The situation became known after citizens of Uzbekistan managed to contact the General Consulate in Bangkok. During the investigation, it was revealed that citizens of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan were also held captive. The release was made possible thanks to the coordinated efforts of diplomats from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan with the authorities of Thailand and Myanmar.

All freed citizens have returned to their homeland.
