As of today, the agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas among the countries of Central Asia has not been signed by all participants. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovations of Kyrgyzstan.

It has become known that Kazakhstan has already approved the draft agreement, while Kyrgyzstan has not yet completed the internal coordination procedures.

“After all necessary steps are completed, taking into account the interests of the parties, the document will be presented for signing,” the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovations added.

It was previously reported that the government of Kazakhstan approved the agreement dated November 12, 2025, which also involves the cabinets of ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, regarding the mutual recognition of higher education documents.

The recognition of a diploma can only be challenged if significant differences in the requirements for the higher education system are identified.
