In Kyrgyzstan, representatives of the country participated in a seminar organized by the British Council and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovations, specialists from 27 pedagogical universities representing Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan took part in this event.

At the seminar, participants discussed national curricula for training English language teachers, compared them with the best international practices, and shared their opinions.

The delegation from Kyrgyzstan included teachers and methodologists from the J. Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University, I. Arabayev Kyrgyz State University, T. Ermatov Music and Pedagogical Institute, and Toktonaliev Financial College.

During the seminar, each country formed teams of academic experts with complementary competencies to work together on the development and updating of PRESETT programs. Participants gained valuable knowledge on how to effectively manage changes in the education system for the successful implementation of reforms.

The British Council held strategic discussions in 2025 regarding the updating of English language teacher training programs in five Central Asian countries. These discussions involved academic specialists as well as representatives from Ministries of Education and the international expert community.
