Today, the 91st meeting of the Council of Commanders of Border Troops took place in the city of Manas, chaired by Army General V.G. Kulishov, who is the First Deputy Director and Head of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia.
Delegations from eight border agencies of the CIS member states participated in the discussions, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives from the Coordination Service of the Council, interacting bodies of the CIS, the CSTO Secretariat, the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the SCO, and the International Union of Public Associations of Border Service Veterans.
According to the press service of the Coordination Service of the CBP, for the first time, authorized representatives and leaders of the border regions of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan participated in the meeting, highlighting their interest in strengthening the border security system and developing multilateral cooperation.
The meeting reviewed the situation at the external borders of the CIS member states and developed additional measures to enhance border security.
The Council also summarized its work for 2025 and defined new tasks, including the organization of joint special border operations.
Members of the Council focused on improving interstate automated information exchange, joint scientific activities, and personnel training.
Additionally, military personnel who demonstrated outstanding abilities in protecting the external borders of the CIS member states were recognized.
As a result of the meeting, 22 decisions were made aimed at strengthening border security at the external borders of the Commonwealth and expanding multilateral cooperation in this area.
