The traditional Turkistan Marathon took place in Kazakhstan
At the international Turkistan Marathon in Kazakhstan, retired Major General of Police Kemelbek Kiyazov took third place. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
The 69-year-old veteran completed the distance of 42 kilometers and 195 meters in 3 hours, 46 minutes, and 2 seconds, which is his personal record. In his age category of 60–69 years, he showed a commendable result, confirming his third place.
Kiyazov dedicated these achievements to the upcoming Police Day of the Kyrgyz Republic, which this year marks the 101st anniversary of its founding.

In 2024, Kiyazov also represented Kyrgyzstan at the marathon in Antalya (Turkey), where he successfully completed 10 kilometers in 43 minutes and 33 seconds, allowing him to meet the standard for the title of "Master of Sports".
