Apartment owners expressed concern about the destruction of load-bearing walls by the owner of the basement floor.

In the Kok-Zhar microdistrict located in Bishkek, the renovation work in the basements of houses No. 22 and No. 23 has been temporarily suspended following complaints from residents. It has been reported that this decision was made by the Ministry of Construction of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Residents of these houses previously reached out on social media with complaints, indicating that the owner of the basement floor is removing load-bearing walls, which jeopardizes the safety of everyone living in the building.
To verify the legality of the work being carried out in the basement premises, as well as the condition of the load-bearing structures and compliance with seismic resistance requirements, representatives of the State Institute of Seismic Resistant Construction and Engineering Design, along with the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control, visited the site.

During the inspection, a meeting was held with residents, and the necessary data and materials were collected, which are now being analyzed by specialists. Construction work has been temporarily halted until the legality of the provided documents is clarified, and an official order has been issued on this matter,” the Ministry of Construction clarified.
