A fraudster posing as a healer has been detained
In Tokmak, law enforcement authorities have detained a woman who deceived citizens by pretending to be a healer.
According to the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region, a publication by a blogger was found on social media, discussing a citizen named M.E. She lives in one of the neighborhoods of Tokmak and, using a method of "treatment in the Kyrgyz national style," lured people, extorting money from them and taking out loans in their names, which she subsequently appropriated.
One of the fraudster's victims was N.Z., who contacted the Tokmak police department. She stated that from February to October 2024, M.E. deceitfully took her funds amounting to 1.5 million soms. In this regard, a criminal case was initiated under Article 209 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Additionally, two other citizens have approached the police with similar complaints.
The suspect, born in 1984, was detained and placed in custody by a court decision.
