A recent monitoring of social networks led to a post on the page of one of the bloggers on Instagram, which reported fraudulent activities by a citizen named M.E. She, residing in one of the neighborhoods of the city of Tokmok, posed as a folk healer and deceitfully extorted money from citizens, as well as issued loans in their names, appropriating the funds received. This information was confirmed by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui region.
The fact of fraud was registered, and an investigation was initiated. It was established that the woman indeed deceived local residents, receiving money from them under various pretexts.
In addition, a citizen named N.Z. approached the internal affairs authorities of the city of Tokmok, reporting that from February to October 2024, M.E., having gained her trust, stole 1.5 million soms.
In connection with the above, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 209 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Police officers detained M.E., born in 1984, in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and placed her in a temporary detention facility. The city court decided to remand the suspect in custody.
Similar complaints have also been received by the police from two other citizens. Currently, investigative actions are ongoing.
