The 91st Meeting of the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops of the CIS was held in Manas

The 91st meeting of the Council of Commanders of Border Troops of the CIS countries was held in the city of Manas, located in the Jalal-Abad region.

According to the Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, delegations from eight border agencies of the CIS member states (including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) participated in this event. The Coordinating Service of the CIS Border Troops, the CIS bodies, the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the SCO Executive Committee, and the International Union of Veterans of the Border Service were also represented.

For the first time, authorized representatives and heads of border districts of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan joined the meeting, highlighting their desire to strengthen security at the borders and develop mutually beneficial cooperation.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kamchybek Tashiev, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Jalal-Abad region, Talantbek Tekebaev, and the Director of the Department of Security Cooperation of the CIS Executive Committee, Major General Evgeny Klemez, welcomed the participants at the beginning of the meeting.

During the meeting, the current situation at the external borders of the CIS states was discussed, and additional measures were proposed to enhance border security. The main report was presented by the Chairman of the Coordinating Service of the CIS Border Troops, Colonel General Alexander Manilov.

The Council summarized its work for 2025 and outlined priority tasks for the future, including plans for organizing joint special border operations.

Additionally, issues related to improving the intergovernmental automated information exchange system, developing joint scientific activities, and training personnel were discussed.

The Council of Commanders of Border Troops awarded military personnel who demonstrated outstanding achievements in guarding and protecting the external borders of the CIS countries.

As a result of the meeting, twenty-two decisions were adopted aimed at further strengthening border security at the external borders of the Commonwealth and developing multilateral cooperation in the field of border security.
