The ToT training program aimed to prepare educators from higher education institutions to teach students and representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises modern processing technologies, quality requirements, and international market standards.
Delegates from leading universities in Kyrgyzstan (KGTU, KNAU, OshTU), as well as from Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, participated in the two-day event. Under the guidance of international experts, participants explored topics such as sustainable export, quality management, food safety assurance, and the application of modern teaching methods, including digital tools.
After completing the ToT training, participants applied their knowledge in practice by conducting the first seminar for the business community and entrepreneurship support organizations as national trainers on October 29 and 30. This format promotes effective knowledge transfer and the creation of sustainable educational resources in the field of dried fruit processing and export.
“We are convinced that strong ties between the academic environment and small and medium-sized businesses play a key role in stimulating innovation and growth in this area. Universities can provide small and medium enterprises with access to modern technologies, improved production methods, and quality standards based on factual data. In turn, companies can offer researchers valuable insights into market realities and consumer needs. Joint efforts can create new opportunities for developing the value-added chain, enhance export competitiveness, and ensure sustainable income sources for rural areas,” noted Stefano Corrado, project manager at the European Union Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic.
