The Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovations Baktyyar Orozov outlined the key areas for reforming the scientific sector at an international conference dedicated to Science Day.

He emphasized that science plays a critical role in ensuring sustainable growth, technological independence, and improving the quality of life for citizens. Orozov noted that systematic reforms are being implemented in the country aimed at optimizing scientific activities, including reducing bureaucratic procedures and improving the certification system.

“We support young scientists and create conditions for their academic mobility. Our main goal is to integrate science, education, and innovation into a single ecosystem,” the minister stated.

Furthermore, Orozov mentioned that in Kyrgyzstan, 75% of the workforce in the scientific field consists of researchers, of which 38% hold doctoral and candidate degrees. According to him, this data highlights the country’s high intellectual potential and the need for proper support.

“Kyrgyzstan has a rich scientific heritage and the potential of young researchers. Our task is to unite these resources and make science the main driver of national development,” the minister added.
