The incident occurred at the 1024th kilometer of the Samara — Shymkent highway. According to preliminary information, the bus traveling on the route Perm — Tashkent veered off the road and overturned. The investigation into all the circumstances of the tragedy is ongoing.

According to reports from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan, of the five deceased, only two are citizens of the republic. Currently, steps are being taken to repatriate the bodies of the deceased, and their families will receive assistance in organizing funerals. Uzbek specialists are in contact with their Kazakh colleagues to jointly investigate the causes of the accident.

Traffic accidents involving buses occur quite frequently in Kazakhstan. For example, in March of this year, a truck collided with a bus carrying 30 citizens of Uzbekistan, but at that time, no one was injured.

In May 2022, an accident occurred in the Zhambyl region involving a bus traveling on the route Nukus — Almaty. In this incident, two people died — the driver's assistant and one of the passengers, among whom were 47 citizens of Uzbekistan.

One of the most severe incidents was the fire of an Ikarus bus on January 18, 2018, at the 1068th kilometer of the Samara — Shymkent highway. The bus had 55 passengers and two drivers, all traveling from Uzbekistan to Russia for work. As a result of this incident, 52 people died.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, the cause of the tragedy was that the bus stalled, and the drivers attempted to heat the cabin using a blowtorch, which led to the fire. Only five people were able to escape from the bus — two passengers and three drivers, who subsequently received five years in a settlement colony.
