
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic commented on the recent collision of the sightseeing boat Korawich Marine 888 with a fishing vessel in Phuket, which resulted in 55 people being injured.
In response to this situation, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Malaysia immediately began to interact with the honorary consul in Thailand to ascertain whether Kyrgyz citizens were on board the affected vessel and what their health status was.
As a result of this work, it became known that there were two citizens of Kyrgyzstan on board the boat. Contact was established with them, and according to the information received, they did not sustain any bodily injuries. Their health is assessed as satisfactory, and they declined the offered medical assistance and hospitalization.
Furthermore, the embassy continues to maintain contact with these citizens and is monitoring the situation. According to available information, their return to their homeland is scheduled for January 15, 2026.
We remind you that on the same day, near the island of Phuket, 23 tourists were also injured as a result of the collision.
