The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement regarding the tragic incident involving the death of a Kyrgyz woman in Malta.

According to the ministry, after receiving an official notification about the death of the Kyrgyz citizen from the Maltese authorities, the embassy in Italy began cooperating with local agencies to organize the repatriation of the deceased back to her homeland. Support from compatriots will also be provided during this process.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that the diplomatic mission is currently actively engaged in matters related to repatriation, providing full consular assistance and ensuring the completion of all necessary procedures. Later, medical personnel and civil protection service staff arrived at the scene and transported the victims to the hospital. Despite all efforts by the doctors, the 48-year-old woman did not survive, while the condition of the 23-year-old woman is assessed as stable.
